| Britney Spears Not in Another Meltdown - AceShowbiz Posted: 14 Jan 2010 08:05 PM PST After an article mentioned Britney Spears has been in another meltdown, the singer's rep has denied the report, stating that it is 'Bulls**t.' Britney Spears' representatives have been quick to slam a report alleging the singer is heading for another meltdown, branding it "untrue". The National Enquirer published an article this week headlined "Britney headed back to psych ward", which claimed the "Toxic" hitmaker is "seriously depressed" and has been engaging in a "frightening display of tantrums and cries for help." But a representative for Spears has taken to the star's official website to post a large "Bulls**t" sign over a copy of the National Enquirer's article to dismiss the report. Meanwhile, a source close to Spears tells GossipCop.com the story is "untrue". Following her split from husband Kevin Federline and the death of her closest aunt Sandra Bridges Covington in 2007, Britney Spears had attended several rehabilitations. She showed her depression with several peculiar behaviors such as shaving her head with electric clippers and attacking a paparazzi's vehicle with an umbrella. She also dealt with drug and alcohol issues.

| Heidi is Superficial - Crimson White Online Posted: 14 Jan 2010 04:30 PM PST Reality superstar gone pop singer, Heidi Montag, just dropped her debut album, Superficial. The technicolor, synth-pop cheese is skin deep, but that's not what Montag thinks. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), the Superficial singer thinks this is one of the greatest pop albums ever likening it to Michael Jackson's Thriller. She claims that her album is just as good or better than a Britney Spears album! She spent close to $2 million and three years on the 12 track LP and released it on her own independent album. With music industry heavyweights like Cathy Dennis (Britney Spears' Toxic), you'd think the album would be golden! While I'll admit there are some "stand-out" songs (Superficial, More is More, Blackout), the album is so mediocre. The production is sound but amateur, and her vocals are out of this world, which isn't a good thing. Regardless of how well the album does, Montag claims that as long as she can afford it she'll do music until the day she dies. Older M.I.A. Gets PoliticalCommentsLog in to be able to post comments. | Clottey upset over Cotto gives boxing therapeutic enema - Examiner Posted: 14 Jan 2010 03:40 PM PST Going back a few decades there was a decent Mexican heavyweight fighter. No names will be mentioned here to protect the partially innocent (?). Anyway, the big fellow got an offer to fight in the Midwest against a guy who was a complete fake, a guy whose record was more padded than Britney Spears. It didn't take long for the heavyweight to indicate his acceptance of a fixed fight in which he would make a big splash. "Me fall down, make good money, good," the heavyweight said. Sure enough, this method actor handled his role perfectly. He laid down so easily you would have thought he had been a mattress tester. I say that to say this. Sometimes, boxing can use a good upset for therapeutic effect. Sometimes, a stimulating upset victory acts as a flushing agent to give boxing a productive enema. Now no one even hints there is anything not on the level about Miguel Cotto's WBO welterweight title defense Saturday night at Madison Square Garden against plucky Ghanaian Joshua Clottey. But the possibility of such a cleansing upset is quite real. Personally, I cannot root against Cotto. On the other hand, unless you've been one of his tortured promoters or managers, it would be hard to root against Clottey. if you have been one of his managers or promoters, then you know what an obstinate little M.F. Clottey can be. M.F., of course as Redd Foxx would say, stands for Maryland Farmer. Clottey has come up the hard way, no pampered treatment for him. This is his big shot, his chance to show he's A Level and not the B Level fighter most in boxing consider him to be. A loss here in a competitive fight won't ruin Cotto but it would be a serious setback. A loss here for Clottey and it could be Palookaville rather than Pacquiaoville as his next destination. I've got it. I'm just rooting for a real, down in the trenches brawl. If that happens, then boxing wins. Michael is a former sports columnist at the New York Post. | Letterman Won’t Shut Up About Carson Daly - Nymag.com Posted: 14 Jan 2010 04:02 PM PST Photo: Getty Images Chris Parnell first made a name for himself during his eight-year stint as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, but in the intervening years, he's carved out quite a career for himself as a go-to comedic character actor in both television and film. In addition to his hilarious recurring role as the quacky Dr. Leo Spaceman on 30 Rock, Parnell is contributing his voice talents to FX's new animated spy spoof, Archer. Vulture spoke to him about his Method preparation for playing a cartoon character with a 12-inch wang, what it was like to be fired by Lorne Michaels not once but twice (!) and whether he's on Team Conan or Team Leno. In Archer, you play a numbers-crunching bureaucrat with jealousy issues who works in the office of a company that specializes in spying and international intrigue. We're assuming you've never held a position like that in real life, so where do you draw your inspiration from? Does it take any special preparation to play an extremely well-endowed cartoon character, one that the ladies in the office gossip about being 12 inches down there? Or is it totally just a Method thing? Most of America first came to know you during your 8 year stint on SNL. That was one of the longest runs in the history of the program, but it also meant that Lorne Michaels had to let you go on two separate occasions. What was it like leaving the first time, then going back, then having to leave again? I'd been on for three seasons and, some people go in there with guns blazing like Will Ferrell and Jimmy [Fallon] too, they're just right there and off with the gun. For me, it took me a bit longer to build up my confidence and find my footing and as soon as I was feeling like I had done that I got cut loose and that was pretty hard. Was it a tough decision to go back? From what we have heard, he rarely does stuff like that. Something we felt you never got the proper credit for was the runaway success of "Lazy Sunday." That came out towards the end of your run, and the way we see it, you really pioneered that form with your Weekend Update raps about Britney Spears and Jennifer Garner. And then Saturday night, I got to see what they had come up with, what they put together and it was just crazy. It got a really nice response from the audience and I was like, "Ah that was gratifying, that was fun." I knew they were going to post it to their site, I didn't know that it was going to be posted necessarily to YouTube, I don't think. That was the last show before Christmas and I went back to Memphis for the holidays and I was there with my family and I got a call from Marc Liepis from NBC publicity saying, "Hey, the New York Times wants to interview you about this music video, it's become this thing" and I was like, "What?" I really had no idea, that was my first hint that it had become a phenomenon. So, can you tell us what the future holds for Dr. Spacemen on 30 Rock? What do you think he does in his off-time? One last question for you. Are you team Conan or team Leno? Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Available tools: PDF Newspaper, Full Text RSS, Term Extraction. |
