Kevin Federline denies weight-related health scare - New Kerala

Posted: 24 Sep 2009 09:42 AM PDT

September 24, 2009: BRITNEY SPEARS' ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE has brushed off rumours his upcoming TV weightloss challenge is a direct result of doctors telling him to drop the pounds or face serious heart problems.

The 31 year old, who was once an athletic back-up dancer for Spears, has become tabloid fodder in recent months for packing on the pounds, and now he has signed on to lose weight on the new season of U.S. reality show Celebrity Fit Club.

But he insists the decision to join ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson on the show had nothing to do with health concerns - and reports his ballooning frame has sent his blood pressure skyrocketing are not true.

His spokesperson tells People magazine, 'The rumour (of potential heart problems) is 100 per cent false. He's focused on taking care of the kids and is (already) eating healthier and losing weight.'

Fat Kevin Federline, Shar Jackson Sign on For Celebrity Fit Club - Fashion

Posted: 23 Sep 2009 05:40 AM PDT

Kevin Federline is famous only because he used to be married to Britney Spears and helped spawn her two sons. Now he is best known for being really freaking fat.
Fat doesn't really do it justice. We are talking obese here, people.
Well, that may not last. Having stuffed himself silly for the past nine months, K-Fed is now going to get paid to go on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club and lose some weight.
Is this a great country or what?
A rep for the network confirms that K-(over)-Fed is joining the cast of the show's new season. Also appearing? Kevin Federline's ex and baby mama, Shar Jackson!
In addition to Britney Spears' kids Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline, Kevin also impregnated Shar twice, only to dump her for Spears. A classy move.

LARGE AND IN CHARGE: Did you really need to take the leftovers, K-Fed? We know you aren't planning on giving 'em to the dog. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]
Despite being lambasted in the press for putting on absolutely massive amounts of weight, Kevin seems happy these days with girlfriend Victoria Prince.
She's in slightly better shape than he.

'Fame' remake lacks edge and fire of 1980 original - Detroit Free Press

Posted: 25 Sep 2009 12:01 AM PDT

The 2009 version of "Fame" is a sometimes toe-tapping remake that borrows scenes and character types from the 1980 original.

But in filtering that gritty drama about the costs of pursuing a life in the performing arts through a squeaky-clean lens, MGM has rubbed the edges off. This "Fame" is a film without the guts to show Idolized America that, as Debbie Allen so memorably said way back when, "fame costs, and right here's where you start paying."

There's no hint of the struggles with substance abuse and sexuality found in the original film. Even the darker themes that are repeated in this film -- eager, talented and beautiful young people preyed upon by would-be producers, record execs and older acting peers -- are tidied up.

There's one thing that's perfect about this film from Kevin Tancharoen, who used to direct Britney Spears videos. The teachers were cast on the nose. Kelsey Grammer? He'd make a perfect music teacher, pushing would-be hip-hop producer Victor (Walter Perez) to stop trying to jazz up the masters.

Bebe Neuwirth is aptly cast as a dance teacher, and Charles S. Dutton is a great choice as the acting teacher trying to instill bravery and discipline. Megan Mullally tries to make the thin-voiced teens feel "Someone to Watch Over Me," and Allen is the school principal.

The cafeteria improv scene, in which lunch turns into an anarchic jam session, still thrills. But other replicated scenes don't come off at all.

And the young actors are, to a one, dull. Naturi Naughton of "Notorious" is an underwritten pianist who really wants to sing. Paul Iacano has little spark as the would-be filmmaker. Kherington Payne doesn't suggest the passion and focus of a dancer. Collins Pennie makes an impression as the angry young man who needs to learn there's more to acting than pouting.

"Fame" gives us four years of lessons learned, careers begun and hopes dashed, and that's too much to cover for this to gel.

By censoring the original "Fame," Tancharoen and company have created a film with lots of holes that need to be filled with some fun. Unfortunately for us, they don't seem to have realized that.
